Antoine Hoxha
Antoine Hoxha has been working for the association since 2010, playing an active role in driving industry’s decarbonization efforts.
Before joining Fertilizers Europe, he worked for 8 years in the fertilizers industry where he held positions in R&D and licensing. Prior to that, he was a teaching assistant at the University of Liège (BE) and at Warwick University (UK). Antoine holds a PhD in Chemistry from University of Liège as well as an Executive MBA from Louvain School of Management and has completed the Certificate in International Association Management from Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Management
Antoine speaks French, Albanian, English, Portuguese and Italian.

Łukasz Pasterski
Łukasz Pasterski joined Fertilizers Europe in April 2018.
Łukasz is an all-round communicator with over 7 years experience as a communication professional in Brussels. Prior to joining Fertilizers Europe, he worked for over 6 years for the European Petroleum Refiners Association and a year for the European Commission’s Executive Agency for Competitiveness and Innovation. He holds a Master degree in Political Science (University of Birmingham) and a Bachelor degree in European Studies (Maastricht University).
Łukasz speaks Polish, English, French and a little German. In his free time he enjoys playing football.
Marcia C. Pulcherio
Marcia Pulcherio has 14+ years of international professional experience across Europe, the United States, and Latin America.With a focus on international trade law and policy, compliance, and regulatory law, Marcia has assisted clients in multilateral negotiations, investigations, and dispute settlement.
Among Marcia’s specialties are disputes before the World Trade Organization, trade remedy/trade defence investigations (anti-dumping, countervailing, and safeguard investigations) before the European Commission, the U.S.International Trade Commission, and the U.S.Department of Commerce. She also works on U.S., EU and UK sanctions regulations and export controls regimes.
Lucia Castillo Nieto
Lucia Castillo joined Fertilizers Europe in January 2024.
Lucia holds a BSc in Chemistry and a MSc in Management of the Chemical Industry. Before joining Fertilizers Europe, she worked for 5 years in the International Fertilizer Association as the Senior Sustainability Analyst where she led the development of global and local decarbonization roadmaps for ammonia production, developed initiatives to promote the responsible, sustainable and safe production of fertilizers, and coordinated IFA’s product stewardship certification, benchmarks on employee safety, production emissions and energy efficiency.
She also gained experience in relevant trade associations in Brussels as Policy and Scientific Officer in the areas of agricultural commodities and fertilizers.
In her free time, she enjoys hiking, baking and listening to music. She speaks Spanish, English and French.
Chris Poole
Chris Poole joined Fertilizers Europe in September 2022.
He graduated from the University of Malta with a degree in Geography and is currently completing his MSc in Biosphere Reserves Management from the University for Sustainable Development in Eberswalde. Prior to joining Fertilizers Europe Chris spent several years working in the agricultural sector and completed his training as a journeyman winemaker at Weingut Georg Breuer.
Chris speaks English, German and French. In his free time, he enjoys playing board games and repairing pocket watches.
Gabor Marton
Gabor Marton is our Senior Data & Statistics Analyst. He has two master university degrees. One of chemistry and one of economics. He used to work in Budapest for the Hungarian National Innovation Office. He also represented Hungary in the Seventh Framework Program of the European Union in the themes of Energy and Environment.
Gabor speaks Hungarian, English, German and Dutch. In his free time he enjoys travelling and photography.
Liam Stein
Liam Stein joined Fertilizers Europe in August 2023.
He graduated from Trinity College Dublin with a degree in Economics and Sociology before furthering his studies in Economics through a master’s at KU Leuven.
Prior to joining Fertilizers Europe Liam was active in the Trinity College Student Managed Fund where he served as Senior Analyst for the industrials sector and spent time prior working Hospitality in the United States.
Liam speaks English, Irish and Spanish, and has also started learning French since coming to Fertilizer’s Europe. In his free time, he enjoys books on history and is an avid collector of fossils and antiques.
Alessia Palleschi
Alessia Palleschi joined Fertilizers Europe in October 2025.
She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and a Master’s degree in International Relations and European Studies, both from the University of Florence, as well as a Postgraduate Master’s from LUMSA University in Rome. Before joining Fertilizers Europe, Alessia gained experience at the European Ceramic Industry Association, where she worked on climate, energy, and trade policy files. She also held previous traineeships at the European Parliament and in the fields of European security and international relations.
She speaks Italian and English, has knowledge of Spanish, and is in the process of learning French. In her free time, Alessia enjoys relaxing with a good book or music and experimenting with new recipes.
Katerina Gkioura
Katerina Gkioura joined Fertilizers Europe in November 2025.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in Marketing and Communication and a master’s degree in Digital Marketing. Before joining Fertilizers Europe, Katerina worked as a digital marketer for five years across various sectors in Greece and Belgium, gaining experience in both B2B and B2C environments.
She speaks Greek and English. In her free time, she enjoys reading books on psychology, listening to music, and painting.
Lina Elahmadi
Lina Elahmadi joined Fertilizers Europe in February 2026
She holds a Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering and Materials Science from the University of Liège. Her professional background includes research and development on decarbonisation technologies and carbon capture and storage (CCS). Driven by the challenges of the energy transition, Lina is expanding her skillset toward climate and energy policy, bridging technical knowledge with policy analysis.
She speaks English and French. In her free time, she enjoys reading literature and exploring visual art, particularly painting.
Pascaline Bello
Pascaline Bello joined Fertilizers Europe in March 2026.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in European laws from the University of Strasbourg, a master’s degree in European public law from Maastricht University and a master’s degree in political science from the Vrije Universiteit Brussels.
Before joining Fertilizers Europe, Pascaline completed a traineeship at the European Commission, where she worked on EU enlargement, food safety and public health.
She speaks French, English, and has knowledge of German and Dutch. In her free time, Pascaline enjoys learning about reptiles and swimming.
Edward Verstraete
Edward Verstraete joined Fertilizers Europe in June 2026.
He holds a master’s degree in history from the KU Leuven and a master’s degree in political science from the VUB.
Before joining Edward worked as a Public Affairs intern at Political Science where he focused on Belgian politics across a broad variety of topics, among them e-commerce and mobility. He also worked for Fevia, the Belgian federation of food companies. There he worked on packaging legislation and agroecology.
Edward speaks Dutch, English and French. During his free time Edward likes reading and hiking.
