Fertilizers Europe members awarded with the Product Stewardship Certificate

Following the Product Stewardship audits of 2017 performed by DNV-GL, all Fertilizers Europe members were awarded with certificates for best management practices of the life cycle of fertilizers.

The Product Stewardship audit is held once every three years by an auditing company. The audit is completed in scope of the Product Stewardship programme of Fertilizers Europe. This certificate recognizes European fertilizer producers' efforts in best management practices. This includes product development, sourcing of raw materials, manufacturing, packaging, transportation, storage, marketing and sales, product application and farmer services.

The ceremony was hosted by Fertiberia in scope of Fertilizers Europe annual meeting in Madrid on 22 June. Fertilizers Europe president Javier Goñi del Cacho welcomed the participants of the ceremony which was held in the presence of Fertiberia's high executive staff as well as Ferdnando Miranda of the Spanish Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Food and Environment, and union representatives Mr. Pedro Hojas Cancho, General Secretary UGT-FICA and Mr. Augustin Martin Martinez, General Secretary Industries of CC.OO.

We are very proud that all of our members successfully completed the audit, which was coordinated by DMV-GL from January through May 2017. This recognition is proof of the European fertilizer industry's high standards and high quality efforts toward reaching sustainable practices.

The next audit will be coordinated in 2020.
