Feeding Life 2030

THE EUROPEAN FERTILIZER INDUSTRY VISION TOWARDS 2030

“Feeding Life 2030. The European Fertilizer Industry at the Crossroads between Nutrition and Energy”.

Looking into the future of agriculture in general and the fertilizer industry in particular, we see the challenges of a productive and sustainable future food production, and we see the challenges involved in Europe’s ambition to decarbonise the economy and promote the circular economy. The European mineral fertilizer industry will be at the crossroads where these challenges meet.

The European Fertilizers Industry’s vision “Feeding Life 2030” aims to answer the question of how to produce enough nutrients for plants needed by a growing population, in a more energy and environmentally effiecient way, while at the same time helping find solutions to other societal challenges such as meeting the growing demand for cleaner energy and better use of recourses.

The mineral fertilizer industry’s Vision for 2030 is twofold: it comprises the way fertilizers are used and the way they are produced.  Applying more knowledge per hectare and taking on challenges are the key Visions in each of these domains.

The Vision of the Fertilizer Industry is ambitious and it requires high commitment from both industry leaders and policy makers to become a reality.
