TRANSPORT CLASSIFICATION
A number of ammonium nitrate-based substances are listed as dangerous goods in the recommendations for the transport of dangerous goods model regulations which is popularly know as the “Orange Book”.
In order to provide a common understanding and a practical approach to the classification in the Orange Book relating to AN fertilizers, EFMA has prepared a guidance for its members. It is based on the industry’s established practices over many years, its interpretation of the intended controls, its understanding of the potential hazards and knowledge of the wide range of products produced.
