Welcome to new member of staff - Ermis Panagiotopoulos

Ermis Panagiotopoulos

We have the pleasure to inform that Mr. Ermis Panagiotopoulos, a Greek national, has started as our Agricultural Economist 1 March 2010. He will mainly support the Agriculture and Environment Committee but also the ISC and TEPC committees.

Ermis Panagiotopoulos graduated from Greece’s Highest Technological Educational Institute of Mesolonghi as an agricultural engineer; he also holds an MSc degree in Environmental Sciences from Wageningen University and Research Centre in the Netherlands, as well as MA in International Politics from the Centre Européen de Recherches Internationales et Stratégiques (CERIS) in Brussels.

He has worked for environmental NGOs in Brussels dealing with the Waste Framework Directive, bio-fuels and biodiversity issues as well as this he was also a stagiaire in DG ENV dealing with the assessment of member states, regarding their nitrate action programmes and Codes of Good Agricultural Practice within the context of the Nitrates Directive (91/676/EEC).
