TRANSPORT
Millions of tonnes of raw materials, intermediates and final fertilizer products are transported yearly by road, rail and sea.
This is well regulated by UN recommendations for transport of dangerous goods, RID, ADR, ADN and IMO.
Some of these recommendations have been transposed in EU law such as the Council Directive 96/49/EC of 23 July 1996 on the approximation of the laws of the Member States with regard to the transport of dangerous goods by rail, and the Council Directive 94/55/EC of 21 November 1994, on the approximation of the laws of the Member States with regard to the transport of dangerous goods by road.
